Four Stadiums and Riding the Turtle...

Perry is continuing to run away with this competition and he is so far ahead and so confident that he is running away with it riding a turtle.

He also over the last week took the sticker book challenge out east and submitted the fourth different Major League Stadium to be featured in the challenge. The legendary Fenway Park.

The album has now visited, Miller Park in Milwaukee, Target Field in St. Paul, SafeCo Field in Seattle and Fenway Park in Boston. Along with those Major League stadiums, the book has found it's way to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison and the Olympic Stadium in Vancouver.

Let's photo on the Turtle... and by the way, once someone starts challenging Perry for this title, I'll start compiling the scores better!!!!

Bernie Brewer and Mark A...

Brief update before Perry attempts to seal the deal on his trip to Boston.

Maxwell attempted to get a photo with Brewers owner Mark A. and was thrown out of the section by security. Lame city, would've been a good one.

Instead he got this one...

Not a horrible runner's up prize.

State Fair, All-star pick snubs, Multiple children...

Hello all and welcome to the The Great American Sticker Challenge with two kids.

That's right, all your favorites, like not being able to upload submissions timely, making poor judgements on top ten lists, not putting up new polls and generally not posting anything.

Hopefully with everything calming down, we can get down to the home stretch here and perhaps somebody can track down Perry for the title.

However, that task will become more difficult soon, as he has a large amount of photos which he is going to pull his official submissions out of now that I'm actually posting something about them.

I did however pull this doozy out in honor of the start of the State Fair, here is a photo of Perry on a giant slide, with child and sticker book... let's vote on it, then see who all can match it at state fair this week!

Now for those of you that following the all-star top ten photo countdown, there is a bit of controversy over a photo being omitted from the list and to be honest there might be some merit to the complaints. So because of this special situation I am going to run another poll regarding this classic.

Should this photo have been the #1 photo of the first half? The people shall have a chance to vote.

Good stickering.

The Number One Photo of the first half of the year...

And the #1 All-star photo of the mid-season countdown goes to...

Horton!

There were many submissions of reading to small children, even larger groups of children, even with more odd looks on peoples faces (See Perry's submission).

Horton's version of this achievement however really has it all and really covers any elements of a sticker challenge you could ask for. And covers them well.

In public, reading to other peoples children, with other adults in the room witnessing the nonsense, that's pretty good for starters. Let's dig deeper.

Horton throws the visor on his small child, a move that was emulated later in the challenge by others (See Grant submission), furthermore it matches the outfit!

He has also managed to get the full attention of four small children that are clearly enjoying themselves, one small child who seems disturbed by the entire situation and in the corner there seems to be a secondary adult monitoring the situation.

With all of this one can only wonder if Horton was late for work that day.

Congrats to Horton and then the challenge recommence!

#2...

Sneaking this one in before the deadline...

#2...

The waiters...

Temke getting the waitstaff in Puerto Rico to pose with the sticker album...

There is alot to say about this but at them moment, three pictures will have to be worth a thousand words.

Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Doctor. Annnnnnnnnnnd #3

When making up this achievement, Max said, "Well we gotta through more things that are easy on the list, like how about next to a bag of recyclables?"

Perfect I thought, anybody can do that, easy no problem, quick snap, a couple of stickers and we move on.

Little did I know Joe would come up with a Top 3 all-star photo from that task.

Full medical garb, full visor mode, winter glove work going on...

Quite a go of it here, this photo really has it all.

Nice beard work as well.

Boom.

No. 4... World Cup... Olympic Games... GAS Challenge...

Just a few days prior to the World Cup, one of the most significant competitions in the universe of sports and not to upstage the big ESPN special tonight on where Lebron is going to end up... the Sticker Challenge announces the #4 photo on the all-star photo list.

In front of yet another sign of great competition, the olympic torch, Todd brought home the bacon, in full visor setup up.

#4 - Vancouver's Olympic Torch!

Next Todd will be joining DWade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

Moving on.

Wednesday, July 7, 2010

Top 5. Starting with, you guessed it... #5

One might wonder when scrolling through photos 6 through 10, if this Perry kid is winning the competition, where are his allstar photos.

Not to mention, if this Todd oddball is in second place how could it be possible that they aren't represented in the allstar photos.

Well just wait for it...

Wait for it...

Wait...

for...

it...

#5...

DUNE BUGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This photo alone shows just how important it is to have your sticker album and visor combination on your person at all times.

How else could you possibly complete with asking the owner of a random dune buggy outside of your work place to take a photo of you reading a sticker album and wearing a visor? How else? I mean really, tell me? You can't because it's not possible.

And away we go...

Down to number six...

From the demented mind of the youngest competitor in the challenge. Maxwell figures out a way to make a giraffe cut-out at the zoo creepy.

Just for artistic and creativity alone this photo hits at #6.

The style, the grace, an adult giraffe with a human head... following a baby giraffe with a sticker album head. Beautiful.

Top 5 begins tomorrow.

Numero 7...

The minor publicity that The Great American Sticker Challenge has garnered across this fine nation, a competitor not intially participating in the challenge submitted a quality photo with his own original sticker album.

With his dog reading it...

#7

Thanks to Fletch... the first K-9 to make a visit to the challenge.

He looks really interested in it. More to come.

#8 in the Allstar countdown...

For a week, Russ went on a run of all runs, that found us seeing a bit too much of his ass.

Somewhere stashed between the photos of him with his wife's bra over his head and photo evidence of his need for a bra himself was this gem. #8 on the all-star count down.

Russ. In the middle of winter. In a hot tub.

Reading a 1981 Topps Sticker Album.

And the countdown continues.

All-star Photo #9...

As we continue our count down of the 10 best photos so far, we find ourselves in the beautiful Dominican Republic on the wedding day of Temke's brother.

In the first and only of it's kind, before Shaun's wedding, a photo, of a bride, on her wedding day, reading a sticker album.

God help her and the rest of her marriage.

An instant classic and #9 on the All-star count down!

Stay tuned for the rest of the count down leading to the second half of the season!

All-Star Photo Number Ten...

The first photo in the list of All-Star break top ten photos is the first photo ever submitted to the challenge, Pretti, playing an instrument, while holding the sticker album and wearing the visor.

A simple, straight forward, 2 point photo submission but a classic one at that...

#10

From the kick-ass Gibson guitar, to Pretti actually holding a cord, this photo sparked the challenge and away we went.

Congrats to Pretti for having the #10 All-star photo!

#9 to come tomorrow!

All-star Break!!!!

It's been awhile and there are about 25 photos to be submitted but over the next 10 days, starting tomorrow, I will be releasing the All-Star photos from the first six months of the sticker challenge...

Both Perry and Max have pending photos...

Stayed tuned for the All-Star Top Ten and more great submissions.

May break and holiday weekend...

Maxwell gets 14 for the photo with the MPS Super...

May has been a busy month, there are many submissions in waiting, I will get to them ASAP then be off for the Memorial Day weekend.

Sorry for the delay, hope to see some great holiday challenge photos coming up this weekend.

Stay tuned.

Monday, May 10, 2010

Todd gets 7, Perry's link and photos finally posted, much anticipated MPS superintendent

Todd creeps a little closer to Perry's lead and the stickers will be distrubuted next week at softball (and via the mail for those not on the softball team).

Forgot to post the link to all of Perry's 50 yard line experience, I need to assign some more stickers for this amazing effort especially because there is so much public attention.

www.digitalperry.com/crazylegs10

I'm going to start a new slideshow for recent submissions to fresh it up. Remember you can always click directly on the slideshow to get to the older photos.

Now here comes a run of photos from Maxwell, including this gem with the future superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools... let's vote.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Perry's 50 yard line charge, Todd up for vote again, others waiting in the wings...

Perry heard all the rumors.

"He's lost his drive," one AFC scout said.

"I'm not sure we'll see the same Pawelka we saw a few months ago," an unnamed NFC GM analyzed.

"Bad teammate," Former JSHL winger Cory Nitzel said.

With his public life falling apart and his private life hinging on the weather plagued economic rummage sale futures market, Pawelka decided to go back to the basics.

Running around in public, wearing a baby blue visor and holding above his head, a 1981 Topps Sticker Album. And he did it for the love of it. If not for the constant eye of the paparazzi and the inability of Santa Claus's beardless brother to provide proper security, we may have never captured this moment on film.

30 stickers, Pawelka...

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

One third of the way...

I will have some one third of the way numbers to share sometime this week, a re-tally on Todd's last submission and then a doozy submission out of Perry.

Real life currently getting in the way but no fear I'll get back here soon.

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

End of the month looming...

Todd has yet another cool submission to be voted on, go for it.

I was unable to get any cool sticker challenge photos on my trip due to weather concerns. :(

Perry has some coming in.

End of the month will bring sticker mailings, a new video and some statistical breakdowns of the challenge.

Todd closes the gap on Perry... Break for Nashville Trip...

Todd got 12 stickers for his Beaver Shot and now is up to 113 stickers earned which gets him closer to Perry. Stickers will be sent out at the end of April but for now I need to take a break to travel to Nashville for some torture.

Todd has a couple of photo's pending, this gap in scoring might give Perry time to answer.

Good luck to all.

Bells and whistles! New member of the Century Club

They said it couldn't be done.

They said Perry has this thing all locked up.

They said Ben Sheets couldn't come back.

They said Sunday night softball would never return.

Todd has proven them all wrong.

With a handful more of his vacation submissions graded out Todd becomes the second player to reach 100 stickers earned and he's not done yet. With the beaver photo up for vote...

...along with having multiple more photos in line to be voted on, by the end of next week he could be our new leader.

In other news, Fletch the dog scored 14 stickers for his photo submission, Max turned in the first Chevy Cavalier photo and word is there might finally be a completed video update coming our way.

Because of the flurry of submissions this month, I will mail out stickers first week of May.

Here is a standings update, to honor the two leaders, I'm cutting the standings down to those with 100 or more stickers earned:

1. Perry, 124
2. Todd, 101

Good luck and good stickering.

Todd moves into fourth place, New player enters the challenge

Todd scored 12 stickers for his Starbucks photo, taking the time to stuff the ballot box paid off. Those 12 plus 4 for his hottub submission push him into 4th place. The standings scroll at the top of the screen now so I won't be continously posting the standings in the updates.

In an unrelated note, a dog has submitted a sticker album photo. His name is Fletch and he is a welcome addition to the competition. Let's vote on his first submission.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Joe moves to third, Todd to fifth and climbing, value of stickers increasing...

Joe submitted a drunken shove in the face photo and has a jenga themed photo in line to be voted on. He was awarded 15 stickers for the Target Field set (would've been 30 if he was wearing the visor). I took the 15 stickers and divided them by the 5 photos making a submission from a visiting stadium worth 3 stickers.

That also seems low to me because Todd sent in this awesome Safeco Field photo with visor for six stickers, but folks are low balling the voting booths and demanding high quality sticker album photos.

Despite the low-balling Joe moved into third place and Todd into fifth, both with submissions to be voted on. Todd's first photo to be voted on is in front of the first Starbuck's.

Also of note is Todd's out of the country submission in front of the Olympic torch.

Todd and Joe's other recent submissions can be found scrolling at the top of the page, or just click on the photos and it will bring you to the set of recent submissions.

Administrative notes:

I will be calculating the stickers that need to be sent out, there is enough to warrant another mailing.

Maxwell is currently working on a new video, stay tuned.

We need to check our doubles and get our lists up so that we can trade, Perry is the only one that has done this. I hope to work on my list sometime today.

Current Top Ten:

1. Perry, 124
2. Temke, 77
3. Joe, 66
4. Guy, 54
5. Todd, 45
6. Grant, 32
7. Russ, 29

Joe took his sticker album on a tour of the new Target Field in Minnesota. Here are a handful of his photos, I wanted to share them immediately because they are pretty cool. We can vote on them starting next week after the Easter weekend break!

His photo with small children along with these wildcard submissions move him into a virtual third place position. Current Top Ten standings to follow the Target Field photos.

Final March Standings Pending... New Photo for Perry...

A record nine votes were cast for Rich's first submission, garnering him 5 stickers for the AMF Bowlero Waitress photo. A photo that can be duplicated at the RBI Baseball Tournament a week from Saturday at Bowlero, be there.

Perry now has a very interesting Dune Buggy photo submission, classic photo from the parking lot of his work place. Smooth moves, vote away!

Here is the current standings with the challenge waiting on some Joe photos from the new stadium in the Twin Cities.

Perry, 120
Temke, 77

It's been a hard day's month...

Greetings Sticker Challenge participants and fans.

This long over due challenge update is brought to you by our friends at AMF Bowlero and finally a first photo submission by Rich to be voted on. We will get to that though.

First there is the business of Topps Baseball and what seems to be a form letter response to Sticker Challenge participants. My letter to Topps included a full color monthly standings sheet that I requested them to post in the office and snap a photo of. Unfortunately all I got back was a letter very similar to the letter Perry got last month.

Here is a copy of the standings sheet I sent them and for proof of my 15 earned stickers, a copy of my returned letter with post marked envelope.

If anyone can get Topps to do something more than this now lame ass form letter, your reward will be at a minimum 25 stickers.

Standings sheet:

Response letter:

With that garbage out of the way let's move on to the current standings, with Perry submitting a 15 sticker fantastic dentist photo (along with another to be voted on) he extends his lead. Here is the Top 10:

1. Perry 120
2. Temke 77
3. Guy 54
4. Joe 37
5. Grant 32
6. Russ 29
7t. Horton 27
7t. Kevin 27
9. Barbs 25
10. Pretti 17

Stickers will be sent out when there are enough to send out to worry about, again Perry's doubles are listed on the side of the website. I will post mine and if anyone else has any to trade let me know, I'll post the numbers and we can start trading.

Lastly today, Rich has submitted his first photo of the Challenge and it's a bit of a doozy, taking on two AMF Bowlero bartenders at once. It will be up to vote on for a couple of days then Perry's next submission will be up. Let's spark a late month rally for stickers, still no other dance dance revolution submissions in yet. Come on sticker fans!

Here is Rich's submission, good luck:

Friday, February 26, 2010

Grant gets a sticker... crickets, crickets...

Well it is certainly a lull here in the GAS Challenge, as to be expected with so many exciting things going on in the month of February... oh wait, there's nothing going on in the month of February.

For encouragement, the amount of stickers awarded for a dance dance revolution submission will be doubled! Joe moves to 37 and anyone who gets a DDR submission in this weekend gets 10 (5 stickers this month and the bonus 5 at the end of the year) stickers.

El Pokem Taco.

Here is the top ten...

1. Perry 105
2. Temke 77
3. Guy 39
4. Joe 37
5. Grant 32
6. Russ 29
7t. Horton 27
7t. Kevin 27
9. Barbs 25
10. Pretti 17

Doubles available to trade...

There is now a list of doubles on the right column of the site just below the submission voting area.

If you have a list of doubles to add just email the numbers to the stickerchallege@yahoo.com email address.

West Allis Police Department, Standings update, New photo to vote on...

With the short month of February already in it's second half photo submissions are beginning to heat up, although still no Dance Dance Revolution submissions so it's looking like Joe is the only bonus winner so far this month.

Grant submitted an odd giant blanket photo to be voted on, after the Dominican bartender photo set was awarded 10 stickers bringing the Top 10 standings to as follows...

1. Perry 105
2. Temke 77
3. Guy 39
4. Joe 32
5. Grant 31
6. Russ 29
7t. Horton 27
7t. Kevin 27
9. Barbs 25
10. Pretti 17

Perry reports he got a ton of doubles from his first set of stickers so hopefully there will be some trading opportunities coming soon.

Also if anyone knows why the West Allis Police Department would be logging on to read about The Great American Sticker Challenge, I'd be interested in finding out.

Trifecta...

There comes a time in a man's life when he realizes anything is possible...

Perhaps the birth of his first child...

Maybe watching a majestic home run by the greatest left handed slugger of all-time (Barry Bonds)...

How about seeing your wife walking down the aisle...

Or opening your email and viewing multiple photographs of Dominican bartenders reading a 29 year old sticker book...

Thank you for the inspiring day Temke. Vote now... all three photos combined.

Top Ten Update... New Challenge...

Inspired by Joe's Dance Dance Revolution video and photos... This month's special bonus decal (of which last month's haven't been sent out) will be submitted a photo variation of reading the sticker book while playing Dance Dance Revolution... ...more stickers for public arcade playing, keep that in mind.

Perry has a couple photos submitted that I will grade out tonight for a standings update... Joe earned 5 stickers for his in action bowling photo, so that is how much that task will be worth in the future.

Current Standings

1. Perry 101
2. Temke 44
3. Guy 39
4t. Grant 29
4t. Shields 29
6. Joe 32
7t. Horton 27
7t. Kevin 27
9. Barbs 25
10. Pretti 17

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Let the games continue... Perry and Temke advance, Joe makes several moves...

All of the January stickers have been mailed... ...at the moment I think the doubles rule should be if you have three you can mail them in and request a specific sticker. If you have five you can mail them in and request a foil sticker. If you just have a couple and want to try to trade with others individually, in good spirit, let's go with it.

Again remember, the standings will be indicating stickers earned, not unique stickers earned. The winner will be the player with the most stickers in the album at the end of the year.

You can find last months photo album by clicking on the current month's scrolling photos and going up a folder on the picasa site.

Tomorrow I will post a new Joe inspired contest for this month, in the meantime let's take a look at the latest photo to vote on.

And now the current top ten standings.

1. Perry 101
2. Temke 44
3. Guy 39
4t. Grant 29
4t. Shields 29
6t. Horton 27
6t. Kevin 27
6t. Joe 27
9. Barbs 25
10. Pretti 17

Stickers Sent...

Standings update coming tomorrow...

All stickers will be in the mail by tomorrow at noon...

There a few photos to be graded, that will also start gearing back up tomorrow.

Good Luck to all!

Lazy? I'll give you lazy...

Alright, alright, so I haven't distributed all of January's stickers, I haven't graded out photos in the queue, I haven't checked out Joe's video on facebook and haven't even started the work with Max needed to complete episode 2 BUT I don't feel so bad after realizing how lazy Topps Baseball was back in 1981.

Joe, after getting his stickers for the month, discovered this...

That's three different Steve Carlton stickers quite possibly ripped from the same pitch. If it's not a single pitch then at the very least this photographer didn't bother moving out of the same camera well for an entire ball game. You kidding me Topps? You've officially changed the definition of The Carlton from "a sitcom inspired dance sequence" to "laziness in it's purest form."

Once again the Sticker Challenge makes my day.

Sorry Mr. Ribeiro, your pop culture relevance has taken a hit today.

Temke's Lost Photo Submission...

Just realized when doing some photo work that we never did vote on this quality photo of Temke standing in the middle of General Mitchell International reading his sticker album... Let's vote on it to get the ball rolling for month number two!

A closer look...

End of the First Month... Standings, Updates, Doubles...

Hello all, the final stickers earned for the month are in, alot of end of the month photos submitted, 68 total achievements this month, accounting for 423 stickers (that includes the initial bonus stickers).

Russ is the only one with his stickers and he got two doubles out of his stack, so I'm coming up with the best way to handle doubles. Straight trading might be good enough and I know Perry has expressed that'd be the most fun, as long as it's all good natured.

12 of 21 participants earned additional stickers in, of those 12, 11 earned the bonus decal, with only Todd falling the one sticker short.

End of the month standings...

1. Perry 95
2. Temke 41 -54
3. Guy 39 -56
4t. Grant 29 -66
4t. Shields 29 -66
6t. Horton 27 -68

50th picture, Russ in the game and moves to fourth place

Above is the 50th photo submitted.

Russ submitted some pretty classic photos to earn his month one bonus decal and surge to 4th place. He was able to have his stickers distributed as well, one down 11 others to go.

We are now at 50+ photos submitted and over 50% participation in the challenge.

I'm guessing a few more photos will be coming in tomorrow to close out the month.

1. Perry 91 earned* (86 to be sent)
2. Guy 37 earned* (32 to be sent)
3. Temke 35 earned* (30 to be sent)

Perry Correction, New Photo to vote, late vote hurts Hodag entries

After reviewing and updating the spreadsheet to add up achievements there has been a few stickers earned corrections pending, Perry is down for only 91 for some reason, I've added in the 20 stickers Barbs and I get for donating and a couple other completions of the scoring to update.

I was about to take down the Hodag voing booth and then at the last minute someone threw a 4 vote in dragging the total earned down from 10 to 9.

With a few photo submissions in, we are at 49... ...Perry has one last wild card to vote on which is now up. And I know of atleast one participant will photos to be submitted tomorrow for a late month surge into action.

Sunday will be a busy day of confirming submissions, retiring some achievements, giving out some new ones and beginning month two of the challenge.

1. Perry 91 earned* (86 to be sent)
2. Guy 37 earned* (32 to be sent)
3. Temke 35 earned* (30 to be sent)
4t. Horton 27 earned* (22 to be sent)

A Closer Look at the Hodag Submissions

New player, 45 photos in, Sticker distribution

With the end of the month surge of submissions, I'm lifting the every other rule in order to get all of the achievements graded and the final monthly scores updated.

Also I have removed the Jet Fighter photo submission and put Todd's first effort up for vote. Todd and Kevin have both submitted this really hilarious photo so they will get the same amount of stickers after the vote is complete. Remember the fact that the visor is being worn is already accounted for in the voting choices.

Congrats to Grant who earned his bonus decal, the 7th player to do so for the first month.

We have 45 photos graded, with four left up to vote, so the goal of 50 submissions this month is probably going to happen, that is most excellent. Kevin and Grant will be getting 12 stickers each tonight at bowling as I start distribution.

1. Perry 104 earned (99 to be sent)
2. Temke 35 earned (30 to be sent)
3. Horton 25 earned (20 to be sent)
4. Max 19 earned (14 to be sent)
5. Kevin 17 earned (12 to be sent, 1 for vote)
6. Grant 17 earned (12 to be sent)
7. Guy 16 earned (11 to be sent)
8. Pretti 9 earned (4 to be sent)
9. Joe 8 earned (3 to be sent)

Standings update, New photo to vote on, End of First Month Nearing, New Player Enters Standings

Well the recovery of my work hard drive was completed but it didn't really help get the challenge back on track. Last night however I was able to do a bunch of submission grading, some uploading and also some photos of my own for once.

Perry had some great ones again and is really putting together a great month, Horton and I completed the facebook task of 10 friends each on our pages (although I haven't accepted the friendships yet, I'm taking the stickers and will do so later) and last night I took four photos as well.

We have had 37 photos submitted this month, six of us have earned our bonus decal already and I'm hoping there might be a surge at the end of the month to get to 50 photos for the month. We shall see.

I am working on retiring a few of the achievements, perhaps those that have been completed by 5 or more people will be the level at which it will be retired or maybe 3 or more. Haven't decided on that. Also will be compiling some new tasks based on January submissions and suggestions.

Stickers will be handed out or delievered very soon, Perry is going to have alot of doubles so those rules are definately gonna have to be ironed out. I know Perry will be a good sport with the stickers, he is easily the MVP of this thing at the moment. I don't know how realistic the current doubles rules are though based on the fact I'm shipping a metric ton of them to Madison next week.

New photo to be voted on is the stickerbook with a fighter jet in the background, taken by Perry, it's pretty cool. Enjoy!

Let's get to 50 photos!

1. Perry 103 earned (98 to be sent)
2. Temke 35 earned (30 to be sent)
3. Horton 25 earned (20 to be sent)
4. Max 19 earned (14 to be sent)
5. Kevin 17 earned (12 to be sent)
6. Guy 16 earned (11 to be sent)
7. Pretti 9 earned (4 to be sent)
8. Joe 8 earned (3 to be sent)

Let the Recovery Begin!

Took a photo of my screen as a UHC Tech was recovering the lost files from late last week, it's a giant step forward in getting the GAS Challenge back on track. More to come!

"I don't believe what I just saw!"

He's done it again folks.

On a day when Brian made a significant push in to second place, Perry has again answered the bell.

In the mail, after the long holiday weekend, he came home to a letter from Topps baseball recognizing the GAS Challenge. An achievement worth 15 stickers in the challenge and is a significant advancement of the Challenge!

Yet to be determined is whether Perry gets double the stickers for the odd clipping of the visor that Perry sent Topps, which they sent back along with an equally odd photo of a hat.

I think that will go to vote, I'm giving Perry 15 for now... Enjoy the image of the package they sent back. Click on the picture above for an enlarged version or click here for a PDF complete with the response from Topps, Perry's initial letter and a picture of the postmarked envelope and visor clipping.

Congrats Perry, another unreal achievement!

1. Perry 89 earned (83 to be sent, 4 photos waiting)
2. Temke 35 earned (30 to be sent, 2 photos waiting)
3. Horton 20 earned (15 to be sent)
4. Max 19 earned (14 to be sent)
5. Kevin 17 earned (12 to be sent)
6. Pretti 9 earned (4 to be sent)
7. Joe 8 earned (3 to be sent)

SCORE CORRECTION - Temke to 2nd place

Temke reminded me that the photo that was being polled today was actually him out of the country, that's a 20 point achievement with the visor on... ...new photo will be in the poll later today, Perry has some more stickers coming as well because the out of country achievement opens up a spot for one of his cued up photos.

1. Perry 73 earned (68 to be sent, 4 photos waiting)
2. Temke 35 earned (30 to be sent, 2 photos waiting)
3. Horton 20 earned (15 to be sent)
4. Max 19 earned (14 to be sent)
5. Kevin 17 earned (12 to be sent)
6. Pretti 9 earned (4 to be sent)
7. Joe 8 earned (3 to be sent)
8. Guy 5 earned (20 purchased, 1200 donated)
9. Barbs 5 earned (20 purchased, 200 donated)
10. Matty, Sean, Aaron, Russ, Evan, Paul, Todd, Grant, Jake, John, Jay and Ed tied at 5 earned (no tie breakers)

Temke moves into 5th place with some photos to be voted on, Perry extends his lead with photos waiting

FYI - I've figured out how to easily extract photos from my phone now so text photo submissions are perfectly fine if that is a prefered way to submit photos.

Some really great ones this past week from Perry and Brian, take a look see at the latest one to be voted on, it's a classic.

1. Perry 73 earned (68 to be sent, 4 photos waiting)

I can't help but host this one as a preview... F-ING CLASSIC!

Max regains sole possesion of 3rd, Temke moves to 7th, Kevin falls to 4th

Perry and Temke have photos waiting, I've moved Temke into 7th because his photo will earn him stickers at some point in time today. I'm realizing today that we have 21 participants, I for some reason though it was an even 20, perhaps I have someone's name listed twice. Either way I think 21 is enough. It's looking like we may have 50% participation by the end of the month so that is a good start.

If you know of anyone that might want to enter the game, let me know, based on this count I have one slot open because I am saving an unused sticker book for the prize package.

Max moves to third getting 2 stickers for the small baby reading the stickerbook.

1. Perry 67 earned (52 to be sent, 4 photos waiting)
2. Horton 20 earned (15 to be sent)
3. Max 19 earned (14 to be sent)
4. Kevin 17 earned (12 to be sent)
5. Pretti 9 earned (4 to be sent)
6. Joe 8 earned (3 to be sent)
7. Temke 5 earned (1 photo waiting)
8. Guy 5 earned (20 purchased, 1200 donated)
9. Barbs 5 earned (20 purchased, 200 donated)
10. Matty, Sean, Aaron, Russ, Evan, Paul, Todd, Grant, Jake, John, Jay and Ed tied at 5 earned (no tie breakers)

Newcomer enters the fight, Perry still way out, Horton moves to second

Russell Horton earned 15 stickers in his first weekend of submissions and had some brilliant ones, definately worth a look. Perry continues to build on his lead, however the first photo from Brian came in from the airport, this could be a big week for him as soon as I can extract the photo from my phone I will score it.

2. Horton 20 earned (15 to be sent)
3. Max 17 earned (12 to be sent, 1 picture waiting)

Perry's trip to the laundromat

A brief story of one GAS Challenge player's trip to the laundromat, as told by Perry himself...

While I was waiting for my comforter to wash in an extra large capacity machine, I figured I’d take some time to capture a couple of challenge pictures. And you'll probably see the ones I got in the coming days...

But what you won't see is that I also tried capturing a high score on a video game stationed at the laundromat. It was a “Neo Geo” system and had two games built in. One of them was forgettable and the other was called “1945” (the sequel to 1944, which was the sequel to 1941, which was a sequel to 1943, which was the sequel to the classic arcade game 1942).

Anyway, I dang near shot down every single airplane in that game but still fell short of the high score by hundreds of thousands of points. Not to be deterred, I asked the shop clerk if I could unplug the game and plug it back in. He obliged but I was dismayed to find out that didn’t erase the high scores. Whoda thunk 1991 Neo Geo technology was so advanced?

I should have spent my goodwill with that worker fella by asking him if I could pose behind the counter with the book. But after my question of unplugging the game, I didn’t want to push my luck.

Max's GAS challenge movie

The movie for which you're voting on in the poll to your right can be found here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1103479806630&ref=mf

If that link doesn't work, just do a facebook search on 'great american sticker challenge' and you'll find it real easily.

More photos rolling in...

Current Standings, Perry out to an early commanding lead in the stickers earned category.

1. Perry 28 earned (23 to be sent, 2 pictures waiting)
2. Kevin 11 earned (6 to be sent, 1 picture waiting)
3. Max 9 earned (4 to be sent, 1 video, 3 pictures waiting)
4. Pretti 7 earned
5. Guy 5 earned (20 purchased, 1200 donated)
6. Barbs 5 earned (20 purchased, 200 donated)
7. 13 others tied at 5 earned (no tie breakers)

I'm going to update this as I have time to post pictures throughout the day, so as not to constantly have Standings posts... ...Kevin sent a great one in via his phone so I had to share it and update the standings for such a solid effort.

Early Leaders Emerge

Pretti and Perry are the first to submit photos, while Maxwell has submitted a yet to be scored video.

Pretti gets 2 stickers for a visor worn insturment picture, while Perry shoves the book in someones face with the visor being worn by another person - 3 points.

Barbs currently owns the tie breaker for those tied at 5 stickers, having purchased 20 and donating a significant amount the sticker pool.

I think it'd be best to lock the purchased sticker amount to 20, if that sounds fair to you guys, it was the number Barbs picked to keep out of his stickers so it seems fair. If that's the case I'll take 20 purchased from the 1200 I originally got.

Purchased and donated will only count in tie breaker situations for now, if we can all agree to that as well. Truthfully with 18 people in the contest and only about 1400 stickers in the pool it's not as if we are all gonna have full sticker books but at the end of the year, midnight at Ed's, we can dig through the extra stickers and get as close as possible.

We can argue about what I've just posted I'm open to the discussion.

So the top 5 right now looks like this...

1. Perry 8 earned (4 pictures waiting)
2. Pretti 7 earned
3. Max 5 earned (1 video waiting)
4. Guy 5 earned (20 purchased, 1200 donated)
5. Barbs 5 earned (20 purchased, 200 donated)
6. 13 others tied at 5 earned
